Dear Participant,
thank you for your interest in participating in the Passion in Relationship training, which was developed as part of the EU NextGenerationEU – Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Slovak Republic (No. 09I03-03-V04-00258) under the leadership of Prof. Júlia Halamová, PhD., Institute of Applied Psychology, Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences, Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia.
We believe that this training will help you deepen the mutual attraction in your relationship.
In a long-term relationship, attraction, desire, and passion naturally fluctuate. Sometimes a feeling appears that the spark has gone out, that you are physically drifting apart, or that intimacy has lost its intensity. These changes can evoke insecurity, frustration, or even doubts about the relationship – but they are not a sign of failure. They are a normal part of a couple’s life and can be actively changed.
This training will help you strengthen the sexual aspect of your relationship. Over 14 days, individual exercises will guide you step by step toward a deeper understanding of your own sexuality, toward more open communication about your intimate needs, and toward creating space for attraction, passion, and excitement.
For simplicity of reading, we use the masculine gender throughout the text regardless of sex, and the word partner to refer to a husband, wife, or other romantic partner.
The exercises will bring the most benefit when you do them together as a couple. They create space to share your desires, to talk openly about what suits you in intimacy, and at the same time to try new ways of getting attract to each other. The very act of jointly exploring sexuality strengthens trust, excitement, and a sense of mutual attraction.
Some exercises are specific and it is fine if you do not get to them practically on a given day. In that case, we recommend writing them down somewhere so you can return to them later. At the same time, it is useful to do a reflection on what the given exercise evoked in you already when thinking about it.
However, if your partner does not join the training, the exercises do not lose their meaning. Even small steps by one of you can open the way to greater passion – when you better understand your own sexuality, the dynamic between you naturally changes as well. Often it is enough for one person to start, and the intimacy in the relationship gradually begins to deepen.
If you want to complete the training together with your partner, enter his/her e-mail when registering or forward the registration link so he/she can register and participate together with you.
What to expect
At the beginning, you will complete several questionnaires about your relationship (approx. 20 minutes). Then, the system will randomly assign you to one of two groups:
- the intervention group, which will complete a 14-day training, or
- the control group, which will fill out the questionnaires at the same time points but will receive access to the exercises after the research is completed.
If you are assigned to the intervention group, you will engage in 14 days of simple exercises in the app – each day a different one, focused on experiencing and strengthening attraction.
Each exercise takes about 15 minutes. After completing it, you will answer a few questions to help you reflect on your experience.
At the end of the training, you will complete the same set of questionnaires, and once again one month later, so that we can see how long the effects last.
If you were assigned to the control group, you can take part in the Passion in Relationship training at this time point. If you were in the intervention group, you can now participate in any other training available at www.self-growth-institute.com.
